Oxford United Under-21s start their league season this Tuesday, as they host Swindon Town at the Training Centre.
Oxford start the season on the back of a pre-season which saw them take on two challenging opponents. They got things started with a 1-1 draw away to Millwall, before being defeated by a strong Swansea City side.
It will be a relatively young side taking on Swindon tomorrow, with a number of Under-18s players included in the squad.
They will be hoping to replicate the success of last season which saw the Under-21s win the Central League after an unbeaten season.
There is a change to the structure of the Under-21s fixtures this season, as they will now compete in two leagues along with the Central Cup. Tomorrow is their first game in the newly formed Next Wave Championship.
A league which consists of nine founding teams, including fellow League One clubs Luton Town, MK Dons and Bromley. Each team will play each other twice, home and away, before an end of season play offs and grand final to determine the champion.
Oxford will continue to compete in the Central League alongside this and look to defend their title from last season.
Kick off is at 2:00pm on Tuesday 25 August at the Training Centre.
