Under-18s travel to Colchester in the PDL Cup

Oxford United U18s

Oxford United Under-18s will take on Colchester United this weekend in a must win PDL Cup clash.

Saturday marks the third and final group stage fixture of Oxford’s PDL Cup campaign. A journey which has so far had two very contrasting results.

United got things underway in the Cup earlier this season with a 3-0 defeat in Luton, before overcoming a tough Watford side a couple weeks ago in a massive 1-0 win.

Mubarak Abolade’s goal against the Hornets has given Oxford a chance to progress in the competition, however there is still a lot to do this weekend.

Saturday’s opponents are top of the table Colchester, who are undefeated on four points, beating Luton 2-1 and getting a point in a six-goal thriller against Watford.

Luton Town are also in the mix, sitting above the Yellows on only goal difference.

This all means that Saturday will be a must win for Oxford to give them any chance of qualifying for the Round of 16, however will still need results to go their way.

Live updates can be followed on Oxford United Academy’s Instagram and X pages.

Kick off will be at 11:00am in Colchester this Saturday.
