Oxford United are delighted to confirm that the Sensory Room for children and young people with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) has been refurbished, thanks to the support of the Club’s Principal Partner, Baxi.
Located under the Family Stand, the Sensory Room is a specially designed space that provides a calm, controlled environment for people who may find busy or stimulating surroundings overwhelming.
The newly decorated area includes a blackout space and a tactile room filled with a variety of textures, as well as other sensory equipment, providing supporters with a quieter place to experience matchdays and help regulate sensory needs.
Baxi’s Head of Marketing, Katherine Ramsden, said “We’re incredibly proud to support the refurbishment of Oxford United’s Sensory Room and help make matchdays more accessible and enjoyable for children and young people with SEND.
“Football has a unique ability to bring people together, and it’s important that every supporter has the opportunity to experience that sense of belonging. We hope the new Sensory Room provides a welcoming and comfortable environment for families to enjoy Oxford United games.”
