As part of LPF Unite For Access Week, an important online meeting is taking place to help shape the future of accessibility at Oxford United.
Level Playing Field will be meeting with interested supporters to support the creation of a Disabled Supporters Association (DSA). This is an exciting opportunity for disabled fans to come together and play a direct role in improving the matchday and wider Club experience.
All disabled supporters, along with their families and carers, are warmly invited to attend. The session will provide a space to discuss what a DSA at Oxford United could look like and to share ideas, experiences and suggestions.
Fan Advisory Board representative and wheelchair user Paul Scaysbrook, said: "Having a formal group, recognised by the Club, made up of disabled supporters, carers, helpers and anyone else who may have a passion for driving accessibility and inclusivity forward, will enable these fans to have a direct voice with the Club and Fan Advisory Board.
“The DSA is a fan-led initiative supported by the Club, Fan Advisory Board, Football Supporters' Association and Level Playing Field. The initial meeting next week will discuss the next steps and put into place a plan to drive forward improvements to the experience of disabled supporters."
The DSA will be a supporter-driven group, backed by the Club, the Fan Advisory Board, the Football Supporters' Association and Level Playing Field, ensuring real collaboration and meaningful progress.
Supporters who would like to be involved are encouraged to register their interest with Andy Taylor by emailing ataylor@oufc.co.uk by 5:00pm on Monday 2 March. A meeting link will be shared with all registered attendees by 5:00pm on Tuesday 3 March.
