Having lost to a late controversial penalty in the FA Women’s National League Cup at Home Park last weekend, Oxford United Women welcome Plymouth Argyle to the MGroup Stadium this Sunday for a Women’s National League Southern Premier match (kick-off 2:00pm).
United, who let a 2-0 half-time lead slip at Plymouth, will be hoping to put matters right on Sunday as they look to get their league campaign back on track following successive defeats to the top two teams, AFC Bournemouth and Watford.
Plymouth are currently third in the table, seven points clear of the U’s who are in seventh place. Their squad includes two former Oxford players: Ellie Noble and Phoebie Poole, both of whom scored in last week’s cup tie.
United coach Shaun Green said: “We had a good run through the Plymouth side at their place, so we know a little bit about what they’re going to do and how they’re going to attack it.
“They’ll probably make a few tweaks and changes, as will we, going into the game and we’ll look to try to put things right.”
With no men’s first team game this weekend, you can still get your football fix by coming along and supporting the women’s team. There is always a welcoming atmosphere and hot food and a fully stocked bar are available.
Tickets for the game can be bought online HERE.
They are also available on the day from the turnstiles. Prices are: £8 adults; £4 over 65s, Blue Light Card holders, and Men’s season ticket holders; £3 under 18s; £2 under 13s. Under 7s get in for free.
The MGroup Stadium (home of Oxford City Football Club) is located in Marston adjacent to the ring road at OX3 0NQ. You can find out more about getting to the ground and parking HERE.
