Oxford United Women Host Gwalia United

Oxford United Women

Oxford United Women return to the MGroup Stadium this Sunday for their FAWNL Southern Division fixture against Gwalia United.

Unbeaten so far under Liam Gilbert, Oxford will be keen to prolong that run following last weekend’s win at the Dripping Pan. Emma Thompson scored the only goal of the game in the second half as United beat Lewes to rise to seventh place in the table.

Gwalia were without a game last weekend, but in their last league fixture they were soundly beaten 7-0 at Watford to leave themselves second from bottom and in the relegation places.

However, the U’s can’t afford to be complacent, as Gwalia have won twice on the road already and are only four points behind Oxford, having played one game fewer.

The game kicks off at 2:00pm, with turnstiles opening at 12:30pm. Make sure you get there early to soak up the pre-match atmosphere. There’s always a great welcome at the stadium, where there’s a fully stocked bar in the clubhouse and catering by Burnout BBQ.

Admission prices are: £8 for adults; £4 for over-65s, Blue Light Card holders, and Oxford United Men’s season ticket holders; £3 for under-18s; £2 for under-13s, and those under 7 get free admission.

United are also at home the following Sunday, when they entertain Plymouth Argyle in the third round of the WFA Cup.
