Oxford United to Celebrate Milk Cup Triumph Anniversary

Milk Cup

Oxford United are proud to announce plans to mark the 40th anniversary of the Club’s historic Milk Cup triumph, with a special celebration taking place on Tuesday 21 April at our home fixture against Wrexham A.F.C.

The Club wrote its name into football history on Saturday 20 April 1986, when Maurice Evans’ side defeated Queens Park Rangers 3-0 at Wembley Stadium to lift the Milk Cup, now known as the League Cup.

The anniversary matchday, celebrating the greatest achievement in Oxford United history, promises to be a landmark occasion, with members of the iconic 1985/86 squad in attendance as we recognise their unforgettable success.

In the lead-up to matchday and the anniversary, a range of initiatives and activities will take place to commemorate the milestone. This will include a Milk Cup tour to communities across Oxfordshire, engaging supporters of all ages and giving fans the chance to see and hold the trophy.
