Oxford United have discovered two of our opponents for the Group Stage of the 2026/27 EFL Trophy.
United have been drawn in Group A of the Southern Section alongside Cheltenham Town and Exeter City. The group will be completed on Thursday at 2:30pm, when the draw will take place live on Sky Sports, where one of eight Premier League Under-21 sides will be allocated. Those sides are:
- Arsenal U21
- Brentford U21
- Brighton & Hove Albion U21
- Chelsea U21
- Crystal Palace U21
- Fulham U21
- Ipswich Town U21
- Tottenham Hotspur U21
The competition features all 48 clubs from Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two, joined by 16 invited Premier League Under-21 teams.
Group Stage fixtures will be confirmed in due course, with dates, kick-off times and ticket information to be announced as soon as they are finalised.
The top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout stages of the competition. with the group stage kicking off in September. The round dates for the EFL Trophy have been confirmed as the following:
- Group Stage: From early September
- Round of 32: w/c 7 December
- Round of 16: w/c 11 January
- Quarter Finals: w/c 15 February
- Semi Finals: w/c 8 March
- Final: Sunday 11 April
