Oxford United Chairman, Grant Ferguson, has described today’s Cherwell District Council planning meeting as a “momentous day” for the Club.
The Council’s Planning Committee will convene this afternoon to determine the Club’s application to build a new 16,000-capacity stadium. This follows last week’s publication of a report by Cherwell District Council’s planning officers recommending the Club’s application for approval.
Oxford United Chief Executive Officer, Tim Williams, and lifelong supporter, Roland Clements, will both speak at the meeting to outline why the new stadium is so important to both the Club and the county.
Ahead of the meeting, Grant Ferguson, said: “An immense amount of work has taken place to get us to this point. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the planning process and engaged with the Club during the public consultation period.
“We listened to the feedback, worked closely with key stakeholders and revised our proposals to create a planning application that delivers a sustainable home for the Club and significant benefits for the community.
“We’re looking forward to the Planning Committee meeting on what is a momentous day for the Club.”
Supporters are reminded they can follow Planning Committee proceedings in real time via a live broadcast from 4:00pm. Local media outlets will also be providing live updates throughout the day.
