PREVIEW | Shrewsbury Away

Everything you need to know as the U's travel to Shropshire

28 March 2024

Oxford United will head to the border of Wales as they return from the international break to take on Shrewsbury Town in Sky Bet League One action on Friday afternoon (3pm).

United head into the game on the back of an important three points last time out away to Port Vale with a 2-0 victory.

We wish the travelling Oxford United supporters a safe journey for the match. Come on you Yellows!

Jay Matate has returned to Sunderland this week after his loan was cut short following surgery to a knee injury.

Tyler Goodhram and Marcus Browne are back in contention for Des Buckingham’s side after returning to the squad for the recent victory over Port Vale.

See a full interview with Des Buckingham, plus the thoughts of Billy Bodin on iFollow.

The last time the two teams met was at the Kassam Stadium in October, with Oxford United winning 3-0 in an impressive victory.

Fin Stevens opened the scoring in the first-half, before two more defenders added the second and third with Ciaron Brown and Greg Leigh securing the win.

Shrewsbury currently sit 17th in the table under manager Paul Hirst after winning their last game 1-0 over Carlise United.
