United’s international players will all report back to training at the end of the week ready to be part of the squad as the U’s resume Sky Bet League 1 action at Cheltenham.

Fin Stevens captained the Wales Under-21 side in both a 1-0 win against Iceland and their 2-1 defeat against Denmark at Newport’s Rodney Parade, while James Beadle was part of the England Under-20 team that came from behind to beat Germany 3-2 in Regensburg, despite being reduced to ten men. James was also part of the England team beaten 3-0 by Italy last week.

Meanwhile, left-back Greg Leigh will be hoping his Jamaica team can overturn a 2-1 deficit when they take on Canada in the second leg of their CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final in Toronto tonight.

The original first leg in Kingston was delayed due to a torrential downfall that initially left the pitch unplayable on Saturday.

All four players are expected to return to training on Thursday as the U’s prepare for their first game under Des Buckingham.

Ciaron's cap was his eleventh while an Oxford player:
