LAST WORD: "Three Massive Games Left"

Elliott Moore gives his reaction at Barnsley as the U's move in to the end game....

Oxford United’s season will be decided by three huge games to determine whether they remain in League 1 next season.

Defeat at Barnsley on Saturday left the U’s outside the relegation places on goal difference, but as skipper Elliott Moore told iFollow after the game, they now need to step up, starting against Cheltenham Town at home on Tuesday evening.

“Timing wise the goals just before and after half time set us back but overall the performance wasn’t quite there like it was on Tuesday” he said. “The result followed because of that. So now we have three massive games where we know what is on the line and everything is up to us.

“We have enough to get us out of this situation and the performances of late have shown the belief that we have. It is now up to us to show that again for three games. We need to start being ruthless up front and in our own box defensively and to start winning games.

“Barnsley are a well organised and structured team, that’s why they are where they are. We created chances against them, and that’s good, but we have to start finishing those chances off now. The mood was one of disappointment because even though we know that Barnsley are a good team we knew we were below par ourselves.

“We know we are capable of beating anyone in this league when we are on our game. It wasn’t quite there for us today but now over the next three games we have to show what we can do. The fans were brilliant on Saturday and we are going to need them again in each one of these last three matches”

Get behind the U’s on Tuesday.
