Oxford United look to build on a good win at Bolton when they welcome Fleetwood Town to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday night (7.45)

“If we can get a win on Tuesday it kind of completes the set” Karl Robinson told iFollow earlier. “We have been building our consistency, doing well away from home and at difficult places like Fratton Park and at Bolton. We have done well; anywhere you play away in the EFL is difficult. But our home was our fortress.

“We feel we have played OK at home but not taken our chances when they came along in front of goal. We know the chances have been there, we just haven’t taken them consistently enough and in our eagerness to score goals we have become exposed at the other end to the counter attack.

“We have spoken about that and we know we have to stay at the top of our game on Tuesday. There is no game where you can be off it at this level. There has to be consistency of effort all the time. If you do that as a group then results will follow.

“We have been working hard and given everything for the cause, but the results haven’t been at the level the fans expect, or we expect ourselves. Just because we have picked up a couple of decent results last week certainly doesn’t mean we have cracked it.

“We are so far off where we should be right now. The players and staff know that. We have created a level of expectation that is higher than it was before and we know we have to live up to that level.

“Fleetwood will be tough. Scott Brown has got his team playing in a way that epitomises the way he was as a player. You can see his coaching in their play and the way they rotate. They switched shape and their results improved but it’s hard to predict how they are going to play on Tuesday. They have a style and a formula and are well-drilled.

“But we have that little bit of momentum and are in a decent place at the moment so let’s see if we can keep our run of positive results going.”
