Oisin Smyth is the latest Oxford United player to receive an international call up.
Midfielder Oisin, a January arrival at the U’s from Dungannon Swifts, has been called up to play for Northern Ireland Under 21s in their UEFA Under 21 qualifying match in Slovakia on Friday 25th March and a friendly against France the following Tuesday.
Oisin will be hoping to add to his seven U21 caps and joins fellow call ups Gavin Whyte and Ciaron Brown who were selected for the senior Northern Ireland squad earlier in the week.
The call up does not have any bearing on United’s number of call ups during international break, and the game at Morecambe that weekend, since he has yet to make a competitive appearance for the U’s.
