Joey Beauchamp Funeral Details

Club to pay their respects to a legend

22 March 2022

Thursday will be an emotional day for everyone connected to Oxford United as we say farewell to Joey Beauchamp.

Joey's funeral service will be held at St Mary's Church, Kidlington this Thursday, 24th March at 12.00pm, followed by a private committal.

The cortege will leave Kingsway Drive, Kidlington at 11.30 and travel along Bicester Road, Evans Lane, Mill Street and Church Street to arrive at the church at 11.45

Fans are invited to say their goodbyes along that route although the actual service is likely to be exceptionally well attended and the family therefore request that respect is shown to the family and close friends of Joey and the capacity of the church.

Provisions will be in place for all those unable to get a seat on the day to watch the service from the overflow areas and outside.

Former Players, Managers and Staff will be joined by Karl Robinson and the current players as well as Dan Harris and Academy staff.

With this in mind the Training Ground, club offices and Ticket Office will be closed throughout the day to allow staff to attend.

After talking to Joey's family we will not be covering the funeral on club channels or social media but the service will be live streamed and the details for this can be requested by emailing info@boswellfuneralservices.co.uk

Flowers in Joey's memory can be sent to C.S. Boswell Independent Funeral Services, 7 Bicester Road, Kidlington, Oxford OX5 2LA by 10am on the day

Joey’s death was marked by an emotional tribute game when we welcomed Cambridge United to the Kassam Stadium, but as well as being one of the club’s greatest ever players, Joey was first and foremost the proud father of daughters Jessie and Bella.

Both the club and his family are raising money in Joey's memory to place into trust to support the future and well-being of his girls, leaving a true legacy for future years.

We would love fans to help. The fundraising page can be found HERE
