Portsmouth: Guard of Honour

Teams get ready for Saturday's game

3 February 2022

We have two teams enjoying their day with us this Saturday as our Guard of Honour when we welcome Portsmouth to the Kassam Stadium.

Yarnton Blues Under 12s.
The team (above) started back in 2018 and have been together ever since. This is the first season that the team have played in a recorded league, which they won with a very impressive record of 11 wins out of 12 games.

A very large number of the boys are keen Oxford fans which include North Stand season ticket holders. Saturday is the third time the boys have been flag bearers.

Middleton Cheney Football Club (MCFC) aims to provide the game of Football in Middleton Cheney to the highest achievable standard; to provide social activities for its members and to be an integral part of the village community.

They currently run thirteen youth teams ranging from Under 7 to Under 18 and the club was proud to also be awarded the Northamptonshire FA, Community Development Club of the Year title in May 2015.

Football has been played competitively in the village for well over a century and they are proud to be running a club with a strong youth culture which will hopefully ensure that football continues to be played in the village for the next 100 years and beyond…
