Oxford United were very saddened to learn of the death of former goalkeeper Brian Sherratt.
Brian was born in Stoke on 29th March 1944 and played for Stoke City before joining Oxford in 1962.
He played 52 games in goal for the U’s and won the Third Division championship in 1967/68 under Arthur Turner.
He never forgot his time with Oxford and had many stories. Although in the end he had dementia, Brian always talked about his time and his experiences and could still name many of the players. He talked about football with his family all the time.
Our condolences to his daughter Kirsty and son-in-law Martin.
