Oxford United Women are looking to progress in the National League Cup when they take on Bridgwater United at Court Place Farm on Sunday (2pm KO).
The two sides are in the same division and have already met once this season in the league with United running out 3-0 winners on that occasion thanks to goals from Carly Johns, Sophie Baker and Beth Lumsden.
The game on Sunday is the third round of the competition and is United’s reward for beating Swindon 5-0 in the previous round.
TEAM NEWS
Liam Gilbert’s side are in great form which carried on last weekend with an impressive 3-0 win at Cardiff Ladies.
The United boss is hoping that the cup run continues and believes his side have picked up the momentum to do so.
Gilbert said: “It has been nice to have a couple of games on Sundays in the league which has allowed us to build some consistency. Hopefully we can take our momentum into the cup game and progress.”
THE OPPOSITION
Bridgwater were enjoying an unbeaten start to their National League campaign when United ran out 3-0 winners earlier in the season.
They are still pushing towards the right end of the table and sit third, just one point ahead of United having played a game more.
A tight encounter could decide who reaches the fourth round.
