Matchday Safety Steward
Job Description
We are currently looking for stewards to join our matchday Safety Team.
As a steward you will ensure the safety and well-being of all supporters and provide excellent customer service. You must be reliable, enjoy speaking to people and have a happy to help attitude.
Roles and responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of the fans at all times
- Assisting and answering queries from spectators
- Checking tickets and locating seats
- Directing spectators and aspects of crowd control
- Operating scanners and turnstiles
- Being familiar with and upholding ground regulations
- Fully conversant with procedures in event of evacuations and remaining calm
- Ability to recognise problems and to resolve where necessary
- Keeping exit routes clear
- Being vigilant and proactive at all times
- Following instructions from your supervisor and working within your team
Our stewards need to be well-presented, customer service driven, outgoing and friendly.
Full training is given to NVQ level 2 to ensure that you will be able to carry out your duties, whilst delivering a high level of service. It is a varied role with different positions available throughout the stadium. There is an opportunity to progress for the right individuals.
Matchday Stewards are required to work weekends and evenings as the fixtures require.

Matchday Turnstile Operator
Job Description
We are currently looking for Turnstile Operators to join our matchday Safety Team.
As a Turnstile Operator you will ensure the smooth entry and well-being of all our supporters and provide excellent customer service. You must be reliable, enjoy speaking to people and have a happy to help attitude.
Roles and responsibilities will include:
- To permit entry to ticket holders into the correct area of the ground
- Operate the ticket scanning device to permit entry
- To ensure the area around the turnstile where deployed is clear of obstructions and operates correctly. Any issues are reported to the Stand Supervisors.
- To work with the Safety Stewards on duty to prevent those persons with incorrect tickets or persons refused entry for any reason from gaining access to the stadium.
- To be confident in using alternative methods for spectators to gain entry in the event of a system failure ( eg a manual counter or ‘clicker’)
- To comply with any instruction given by the Stand Supervisors to close a turnstile when required to do so.
- Attend the pre-match stand briefing.
- To support the match day crowd management operation.
Matchday Turnstile Operators are required to work weekends and evenings as the fixtures require.

Hours of work are approximately 2.5 hours and can be discussed at interview.
