PREVIEW Doncaster Rovers v Oxford United

A full guide as the U's travel to Doncaster

5 February 2021

League 1's two form teams meet as Oxford United travel to Doncaster on Saturday (3pm)

TEAM NEWS
The U's made three signings on Deadline Day - Joe Grayson, Elliot Lee and Brandon Barker and all three are included in the travelling party.

Grayson drew praise from boss Karl Robinson after playing 45 minutes against AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday, coming on as a sub for Alex Gorrin. The Spanish midfielder came off complaining of a sore groin but has responded well to treatment and is fit to continue.

The fourth new face, Luke McNally is working his way through a 'mini pre-season' after arriving from St Patrick's Athletic in Ireland while Marcus McGuane and John Mousinho remain on the injured list.

THE OPPOSITION
Doncaster’s form over the last ten games matches the U’s and boss Darren Moore has also strengthened his squad with new faces in the window. Like Karl Robinson he feels the extra bodies will be needed in a hectic second half of the season

“After the weekend it kicks in and we’re well into it,” he said. “Hopefully over the next couple of weeks we don’t get any more hiccups and we can get a few more bodies back to ease the burden a little bit more as those fixtures come in. We’ve had some time this week to recuperate a bit and we get back into the schedule again. The next break is towards the end of March when there’s an international break. It just will dictate where we’re at with the games.

“We’re just on the crest, ready to start it and the next two months will be full on.”

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
There have been 20 previous meetings with United winning nine, drawing 6 and losing five
