Oxford United are very pleased to welcome EB Charging as Shirt Sleeve and Match Sponsor for our highly anticipated semi-final tie against Tranmere Rovers in the Papa John’s Trophy on Tuesday evening.

With a vision to drive clean air for this generation and the next, EB Charging are a developing business founded as a family start up five years ago. The aim is to tackle the growing issues of inadequate infrastructure for the Electric Vehicle (EV) market and poor air quality in towns and cities in the UK.

Dan O’Hara, CEO at EB Charging, told us, “Growing up in Oxford and then going on to study at Oxford University has really embedded the club and community very close to my heart. As an entrepreneur from the city, I thought it would be a perfect time to give something back to the community with the new initiatives we plan to implement with the club and council.”

“Working with both the Oxford City Council and now the football clubs of Oxford, we are really going to push the green agenda throughout the city with the aim of reducing the damagingly poor air quality our cities face at this current time. Not only to deliver clean air for our generation, but for the many generations to come”.

Connecting the club, council and community together, EB Charging aim to install ‘excellence hubs’ at both Oxford United and Oxford City’s car parking facilities, to capitalise on the inactivity on non-matchdays.

These charging areas, powered entirely by renewable energy, will be for taxis, delivery fleets, and other high milage vehicles with an aim to significantly contribute to a net zero emission future.

Working closely with Oxford City Council, EB Charging have already installed EV infrastructure within the city to be utilised by residents and visitors to Oxford who own an electric vehicle. EB Charging’s existing work with the Oxford City Council and their new plans to use the two Oxford clubs’ car parks as charging areas will significantly contribute to the delivery of clean air quality for the city of Oxford.
