Young U's Take On Thame

Final friendly action for youngsters

3 August 2021

Oxford United’s youngsters finish their pre-season preparations with a friendly at Thame United this evening (7.30pm)

The young U’s have been impressive throughout their summer programme and have seen a number of under 16s step up to play for the under 19s while scholars such as Clint Nosokhare and Josh Johnson have been involved with the First Team.

Tonight’s game will be an Under 21 side which will allow midfielder Leon Chambers-Parillon to play after an ankle injury and striker Slavi Spasov to continue his build up after missing the start of pre-season through injury. The First Team have a Behind Closed Doors friendly against Barnet earlier in the day and there could be a handful of senior players who miss out on game time in that match given a chance to play this evening.

“We’re looking forward to it” Coach Chris Hackett told us. “It’s another chance for the boys to impress us and test themselves and we know it will be a good game against a strong Thame side where the facilities and the pitch are really good as well.”

There’s always a friendly welcome at the ASM Stadium so come along and enjoy some live football. We’ll have a full time report and Gallery right here on the final whistle.
