Oxford United players were happy to encourage as many people as possible to get their Covid jabs after visiting the vaccination centre at the Kassam Stadium yesterday to get their vaccinations from Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.
They were welcomed to the centre by the committed team who have been vaccinating thousands of members of the public at the specially set up facility since it opened in February.
The players, like all who visit the centre, were booked in quickly and soon received their jabs. The site also recently welcomed members of the Team GB Olympic rowing squad who were vaccinated ahead of their trip to Tokyo.
Oxford United has operated strict a strict Covid policy since the outbreak and the players who visited the Kassam today were keen to encourage fans to get their jabs.
Jack Stevens, one of six players who went along, told us: “The staff here that are working to get everybody vaccinated are excellent and there’s no need to worry about how long it will take or whether it will hurt. I would urge anyone who has not yet been vaccinated to do it as soon as they can.
“Being vaccinated means you have extra protection and you are also protecting your family and others around you.”
Any adult aged 18+ can now get their vaccination. You can find out more about where to get your jab and book online here.
