Oxford United ended a tough few days of training with a bit of team bonding at the Bicester Hotel and Spa this afternoon as they took a look at the new facilities on offer.
The U’s were back in for training at 8.15 on Sunday morning after a disappoinitng performance at home to Sunderland the day before and they then trained hard on Monday and Tuesday, including an 11x 11 game at the Training Ground this morning
They then made the short journey to the Bicester Hotel and Spa where they were put through their paces at the new sports performance gym before a session in the new 200m Swimming Lake and the outdoor Grass Running Circuit and assault course.
Chris Short, Head of Performance at the club told us
“The guys have worked extremely hard, not just this week but over the last few weeks and we like to mix things up.
"The facilities here at the Bicester Hotel and Spa are incredible and it was good to take a look and do a few things in teams and out of the ordinary. We have a very fit group here so putting them on the water or on an assault course, out of their comfort zone, just lets them work together in a slightly different way.
“It was fascinating to watch the dynamics and obviously there was a serious side to it all. We’d like to thank Bicester Hotel and Spa for allowing us to come and use the facilities. It’s very impressive and I’m sure just the start of a very strong partnership for us.”
