Swindon on Saturday - Have Your Say

Let the players know what a derby means to the Yellow Army

19 October 2020

It’s a big week for Oxford United with two home games in Sky Bet League 1.

The U’s welcome MK Dons to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday night (7pm) with passes available right now for just £10 - season ticket holders have been sent an email with the code for the game and just need to follow the usual procedure

Then on Saturday it’s the derby when United welcome Swindon Town for what would have been a sold-out game in front of a passionate Yellow Army.

“We’ll miss the fans” Karl Robinson told us .“We’ll be giving it our all in both games this week but we understand what the Swindon game means to them and it’s really sad not to have our fans there and for the players to miss out on the experience of playing in that fixture.”

That got us thinking. For many of the players it would have been their first experience of an Oxford/Swindon derby. We want them to know what it means to the fans. So how about you tell them?

We want everyone involved to know what the A420 Derby is all about and have set up a dedicated OUFC Fan Phone for this game.

Join the pre match build up and send us a short video via Whatsapp explaining what these games mean to you, even a simple ‘Come on you Yellows’ will do and we will compile the best videos into a short film to play to Karl and the players before the game.

It’s simple to do- the OUFC Fan Phone number is 07917 832460. Save that to contacts and send your message in via WhatsApp before Thursday lunchtime to be part of the pre-match.

Nothing rude, nothing abusive please. Just a message that you believe will get the players in the mood ahead of the first derby of the season...
