This Week's Mental Health Tips

Club Psychotherapist Gary Bloom offers one final set of ideas

10 June 2020

For the last three months club Psychotherapist Gary Bloom has been providing us with invaluable tips and ideas to help with mental health during Lockdown

With the play-off games now on the horizon we asked Gary or some final lockdown tips for Oxford United’s incredible fans. Stay safe you yellows!

1. Try to find the humour in everyday situations. Life is much easier if we have a giggle now and then no matter how tough things are.

2.Always ask for help. If you are struggling with your own mental health feel free to get in touch with me via the club and I will try and find a suitable help.

3. Divide your day into manageable chunks. Huge tasks are always easier when we cut them up into smaller pieces.

4. This is temporary. No matter how tricky things are right now there is usually some light eventually in the future.

5. Let’s now turn our attention to two massive football matches and hopefully 3 to take us up. If you’re feeling low remember that feeling when the U’s win!

We would like to thank Gary for his help with this series. He will continue to work with the players and staff but if you think you would benefit from a chat with him then check out his website HERE
