Dan Agyei and Jack Stevens were on the mark as Oxford United won a behind closed doors friendly 2-1 this afternoon against Southend United at the Training Ground.
Agyei levelled from close range half way through the first half after an early goal from the visitors, and the former Burnley forward also hit the bar and the post during the second half while young midfielder Stevens scored the winner with a second half header as the U’s eased a number players back in to action.
Jamie Hanson made his first appearance after a hamstring problem while both Liam Kelly and Rob Atkinson played the full 90 minutes and did well in a very competitive game in which Rob Hall also caught the eye in a side with a couple of trialists given a chance to impress.
