Karl Nominated For Manager Of The Month

Oxford boss on the shortlist for December

8 January 2020

Oxford United boss Karl Robinson has once again been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month Award for December.

Karl is one of the four nominees with the judges saying:
Karl Robinson (Oxford United)
Maintained his side’s late autumn surge by guiding them to 10 points from five games and into the automatic promotion places before 2019 was out. Defence was key in December with just two goals conceded all month.
Michael Appleton (Lincoln City)
Taking over from Danny Cowley was a thankless task in many ways, but Appleton is beginning to make a mark on the Lincoln side he inherited. Among December’s nine-point haul from five games was a 5-3 win over Ipswich.
John Coleman (Accrington Stanley)
Never one to panic over a poor run, Coleman trusts the methods which continue to serve him and Stanley well, collecting 11 points from five unbeaten games, which included a stunning 4-1 victory over improving Portsmouth.
Steve Evans (Gillingham)
It is fair to say he wasn’t the choice of every Gillingham fan, but Evans has won the doubters over with a brand of attacking football which gained 11 points from five unbeaten games, including a perfect three home wins.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
