One of our former youngsters will be putting his best foot forward for a great cause when he runs the London Marathon
Matthew Brandish was a scholar at the club and continues to be a friend to many people behind the scenes and will be running the London Marathon and raising money for a fantastic charity: Whizz-Kidz.
Matty was a busy midfielder and now does outstanding work at the nearby Oxford Academy and said:
“I used to work really hard as a footballer and someone called me the Marathon Man so ever since then it’s been an ambition to run the London Marathon. Its now time to take on the challenge and I'm proud to be running it in 2020,
“Being an active person myself, I'm inspired by the work that Whizz-Kidz do - they enable disabled children and young people to lead fun, active and independent lives. Whizz-Kidz provides vital mobility equipment, opportunities to meet and have fun, and training to help gain skills for a brighter future. These are such important things for us all to have in our lives.
“It’s amazing that the club is helping get my message out, but that’s always been the way here. It’s a family club and I’m very proud to still be associated with it.”
