PREVIEW Oxford United v Hull City

A full guide to Saturday's Sky Bet League 1 game

4 December 2020

Oxford United welcome fans back for the first time as we take on Hull City at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

TEAM NEWS
The U's have no new injuries after the draw against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night but  Jordan Obita may step up from the bench after impressing as a sub.

Striker Sam Winnall is in with an outside chance of making the bench as he regains fitness but winger Joel Cooper has returned to Northern Ireland for personal reasons and is available for loan back home. Jack Stevens is expected to remain in goal after the U's kept their first clean sheet of the season on Tuesday.

Malachi Napa and Cameron Brannagan remain unavailable although both are making good progress

Hear from Mide Shodipo and Karl Robinson in iFollow where you can view the whole game live.

THE OPPOSITION
The Tigers are four points clear at the top of League One after a convincing win over Doncaster Rovers but Manager Grant McCann is not judging the U's purely from the league table:

“We know we have another tough game and I think Oxford are in a false position for me with the way they play. They’re a good footballing team. They’re similar to Doncaster, Karl Robinson has done a tremendous job there the last year, just missing out in the play-offs. Wherever he’s been he’s done a really good job.

“His teams are always good footballing teams, they’ve got good individuals down there and I think they’re starting to pick up a little bit as well, they got a decent point against Ipswich.

“It’s another difficult game. The most important thing for us now is the recovery and making sure we’re right because it’s a long drive to Oxford.”
