Training Camp Under Way

Players working hard in Wales as new season draws close

13 August 2020

Oxford United’s players have been working extremely hard today as their Welsh Training Camp truly began.

After arriving on Wednesday the squad met up to discuss core values and principles last night before a 6am start for an early morning Spinning Session at the excellent Vale Resort’s gym.

They then continued their day with a two-hour training session on the immaculate pitches with Chris Short overseeing plenty of strength and conditioning and his brother Craig working with the players for the first time as First team Coach.

Derek Fazackerley was there to help out and the players put in plenty of hard miles, averaging over 10km in a series of gruelling runs and drills.

“It was a good session” Karl told us. “As a Manager I like to see their grumpy faces when they come down the hill to report at 6am! But they do it without complaining and they have worked really hard today. It will stand us in good stead for the next few weeks as we build towards the new season.”

There is one more session of gym work planned this evening before another three session day on Friday.

There’s lots of video and imagery across our social channels and on iFollow and the infamous Tour Diary will be online later this evening as well.

The players are almost ready, are you? Season tickets are still available. CLICK HERE or call 01865 337533 to be part of the new adventure...
