Mental Health Tips - Week Three

Five ways to help stay positive this week

9 April 2020

It's not just physical exercise that you need right now. It's a stressful time for all of us and we ask all  Oxford United fans to stay positive and look after your mental health.

Phone friends and relatives, talk to each other and look after everyone in the Oxford United family.

Each week club Psychotherapist Gary Bloom has been offering five simple tips to help, and this week he suggests:

1.  It may be a challenge but please follow government advice and stay indoors.
2 . Stay active. The temptation is to do nothing, but Karl and the boys need you back raring to go when the season starts again.
3 . Many people are reporting not sleeping well. This is normal during this period. An early night is a good night!
4. Don't believe everything you read online – in fact stop reading the conspiracy theories and listening to too many news bulletins.
5. Football meditate. Close your eyes and take five deep breaths and exhale slowly between them.
Close your eyes and visualise Matty Taylor or James Henry scoring the winning goal! Relax !

Stay safe everyone.
