Oxford United have to look to bounce back when they head for Rochdale despite a last minute defeat at Gillingham on Saturday. That’s the message from keeper Simon Eastwood who told iFollow:
“We have to stick together” he said after the game at Priestfield. “Conditions were difficult today and a nightmare for keepers in the wind. We had the better of that in the first half and didn’t get enough shots away. Looking back now we’d have probably taken a 0-0
“It is a disappointing result but I thought is was a game that could have gone either way. To lose so late on and come away with nothing is so disappointing for all of us but we have to start looking forward to Tuesday now when we go to Rochdale. That’s a winnable game, as is Saturday at home to Bradford.
“It’s a ten game season now and we just have to grind results out and hopefully get the three or four wins that we need.
“Nothing has been decided today on one game and with so many teams involved one result either way isn’t going to be the decider, It’s going to be a slog but if we can win the games against other clubs around us and keep our home form going when we have to play teams like Bradford and Wimbledon then hopefully that gets us over the line.”
