The Oxford United Academy are pleased to confirm the appointment of Gareth Hamer who today joins the club as our new Head of Academy Recruitment.
Gareth, has previously worked in the Talent ID systems at West Brom, Stoke City and Aston Villa and joins us from his role at the Junior Premier League where he has had national oversee for their development squads.
Speaking about the appointment Academy Manager Dan Harris said:
"We're delighted to be able to bring Gareth in to the club on a full-time basis. He has been working as a part-time scout for us for a few months and has already made a significant contribution with the way he has grown our Bicester Regional Training Centre.
"There were a number of clubs trying to bring Gareth in and it is another statement of intent for Oxford United that shows how committed Tiger, the board and the management are at wanting to identify, recruit and develop the best young players in this region for this fantastic club - we look forward to working with Gareth and the existing Academy recruitment team over the years ahead."
