Oxford United defender Nico Jones has earned his first international call-up, having been selected to attend a Republic of Ireland Under 18 International Tournament.
The tournament will take place in Sundsvall, Sweden, with matches played from the 5th to the 9th of September 2019.
Nico told us:
“I’m excited to get my first international call-up and can’t wait to meet up with the squad next week. It will be a great experience for me to play a tournament in a different country and I’m really looking forward to being part of an international squad.”

“It’s a fantastic boost for everybody who has helped people at the Academy and a great sign of all the progress he is making. He now gets to experience an elite environment with an international squad which can only help to further his progress. Everyone here is really pleased for him.”
