Oxford United’s young forward Ryan Crooks has been offered the chance to extend his stay with the U’s until at least January.
Ryan is an exciting young forward who has played a big part for the successful under 18s this season, scoring 19 times and adding 15 assists that total. Able to play out wide or through the middle, Ryan unfortunately suffered an injury to his knee which will leave him out of action for the remaining games this season. Due to that injury he has been given the chance to impress through to the new year with the U’s.
Academy Manager Dan Harris told us:
"Ryan has had a very productive U18s season and played an important part in helping the Youth Team win the league this year. Unfortunately Crooksy picked up a knee injury towards the end of the season and so has missed the chance to potentially play and train with the older groups - by offering him this short term deal we're giving him the chance to come back for pre-season in great shape and hopefully show everyone what he can do.
“We'd like to congratulate Ryan on being offered his first pro deal with the club he has been at since the age of 11 - we look forward to working with him over the coming months."
