Three more Oxford United Legends have confirmed they will be joining us for a very special celebration of our 125th anniversary.
Formed on 27th October 1893 in The Britannia pub in Headington, our home match with Shrewsbury Town marks the exact day the club was formed, and this anniversary will be celebrated with two great events.
That evening there will be a fantastic black tie event where a specially selected group of club legends will join us at the Sheldonian Theatre and Bodleian Library.
With tables from each decade, we are proud to announce that Les Robinson, Roy Burton and our Milk Cup winning captain Malcolm Shotton will be joining John Shuker, Joey Beauchamp and Ryan Clarke in attending.
The night, which will be hosted by Jim Rosenthal, will include live interviews with the club legends, a drink and canape reception at the world famous Sheldonian Theatre, and a superb three course meal in the Weston Library, part of the Bodleian Library and one of Oxford’s most iconic venues, followed by an auction of memorabilia.
Following the theme of the decades, companies or individuals can sponsor a decade and host the two legends from that decade on their table for the evening.
This night really will be celebrating our history to support our future, with all profits from the evening going directly into funding the Academy.

There will be a ‘Parade of the Decades’ from the 1960’s through to the current day prior to kick off and many other special events on the day.
We hope that as many fans as possible from far and wide can join us for this special celebratory matchday, and are targeting a crowd of 10,125.
As well as the club, The Yellow Army are also planning a special event on the day, with more details announced soon, and Oxvox are working on longer term projects to celebrate 125 years of proud history.
Tickets for this huge day are on sale NOW at www.oufctickets.co.uk or by calling 01865 337533. Get involved in the celebrations and bring as many friends and family along to celebrate our history and help us to fill the stadium with a bumper crowd.
And if you thought those two announcements were exciting then how about your chance to join us for the Anniversary Dinner for just £1.25…
We know that not everyone is able to afford £125, but may wish to attend the dinner and support the Academy, so we have reserved one table at the evening event and as a one off, rather than the usual 50/50 tickets for our home league game against Walsall on 22nd September the prize will be five pairs of tickets to the dinner, with tickets for the draw just £2.50 for a pair of tickets. All proceeds raised by this fan initiative over and above the table cost will be put directly towards the Academy.
Spread the word. Oxford United has been part of the lives of thousands of fans over the last 125 years. Come and join us to celebrate against Shrewsbury on 27th October.
