Oxford United boss Karl Robinson was delighted with the way his team reacted to Saturday’s defeat at Bradford as the U’s roared back to beat Rochdale 4-2 at Grenoble Road last night
“We wanted a reaction after Bradford and we got that” he told iFollow. “We were probably a little bit frustrated only to be 2-0 up after 30 minutes and then the best goalkeeper in the league decides to make a couple of howlers! He apologised but there was no need- since I have been here he has kept us in far more games than he has made mistakes in; he has been fantastic for us.
“We felt we were comfortable in our shape and it was important that we bounced back after a long journey and a disappointing result on Saturday.
“The three points draw us that bit closer to the teams above us. The table still isn’t that healthy and if I was a fan I still wouldn’t think the position was acceptable. I agree with that but we have to keep soldiering on and doing the right things.
“I was really pleased with the back four who I thought were excellent, and John Mousinho who made some telling interceptions. Jamie Mackie was excellent as well and it was James Henry’s best performance in a while. I thought we probably played as well on Saturday without having that ruthless edge, but we are learning all the time and now we will look to keep it going in the FA Cup at Plymouth on Saturday.”
Karl singled out the talents of Marcus Browne in particular- see what he had to say about the two goal star in iFollow right now.
