PREVIEW Blackburn Rovers v Oxford United

A full guide to the final game of the season

4 May 2018

Oxford United head for Ewood Park for the last game of the 2017/18 season. It's a game that the home side need to win to be in with a chance of being Champions, and with 25,000 people there it should be quite an occasion for Karl Robinson's young side.

TEAM NEWS

United secured their place in League 1 with a win over Rochdale last week and then announced the retained list for next season ahead of Saturday's game. Players who were told they will not be offered new deals will not be involved on Saturday, leaving in form James Henry with a chance of pipping Wes Thomas to end the season as top scorer.

Simon Eastwood is in line to complete another remarkable season in which he has played every league game and will be hoping to impress against his former club. Todd Kane is also an ex Rovers player after making over 40 appearances for them in 2013/14.

Young forwards Owen James and Albie Hopkins have been added to the squad for the first time after impressing for the youth team

TICKETS

With Blackburn celebrating promotion and needing a win to be in with a chance of overtaking Wigan to finish champions they are expecting their biggest league gate for years.

As a result no tickets will now be available to Oxford fans on the day.

Tickets are no longer available online but will remain on sale from the ticket office in person or by phone (01865 337533) until 3pm on Friday 4th May. Those unable to collect before 3pm on Friday will be able to collect from the away ticket office at Blackburn from 4.30pm on the day.

United have already sold over 1,200 tickets but because of the large crowd we recommend that supporters leave a little extra time for the journey and arrive early, or if you want to attend but have not got any way of getting there why not travel on one of the LRC coaches?
