Academy confirm three year deal to move to Court Place Farm

2 May 2018

Oxford United Boys Academy is delighted to announce a new three year deal that will see its evening training programme for 7-16's relocating to Court Place Farm, home of Oxford City.

From the start of next season, all of the club's Academy schoolboy age groups will be based on the Stadium First Team pitch at the Marsh Lane site as part of an exciting new chapter in the Oxford Football Partnership.

Academy Manager, Dan Harris told us:

"This is a really significant step forward for both Oxford United and the Oxford Football Partnership as we work to strengthen relationships across the footballing landscape here in Oxfordshire.

"Since coming into the club back in January, it has been clear that we needed to try and take steps forward in a number of areas and particularly with regards to our Academy training facilities in order to help us create an environment and culture that lends itself to elite performance. Today's agreement goes a long way towards making this happen and is undoubtedly a big step forward for both parties. We look forward to working with all at Oxford City over the coming years and my thanks go out to all at the club and in the Oxford Football Partnership for their help in getting us to this point.

"I would also like to put on record our appreciation and thanks to all at the Oxford Academy School who have hosted us over the last five years. We are grateful to the high quality people who have been a real support over our time at OX4 and we look forward to being able to maintain our links there through our winter Pre-academy programme which will continue to be based in the school's indoor facility.

"Today's deal comes at at exciting time behind the scenes for the football club with the imminent move of the U18s and First Team to a purpose-built training ground in Horspath; the formation of an U23s programme; and a new manager & owner who both have a real track-record of supporting youth development. We're looking forward to working hard over the coming years to help build a bright future for Oxford United."
