Oxford United's matchday programme proved a huge success on Saturday as we became, literally, the poster boys for match programmes.
United's programme has won many awards over the last few years and remains fantastic value at just £3 per issue.
This summer, for the first time ever, EFL clubs voted to make production of a programme optional rather than compulsory, but the U's take pride in their programme and on Saturday produced TWO editions: one for home fans and one for away.
It proved a big hit with both sets of fans, as Communications Manager Chris Williams told himself:
"The away programme has information specifically aimed at the visiting fans, such as where to eat and drink, and pen pics on the home side, plus the cover featured Joey Barton, rather than the home one which had Rob Dickie.
"We also produced a fixture poster, free with the programme, and that proved really popular as well.
"It is well documented that sales have been falling on match programmes across the league, but looking at the sales figures this morning, percentage wise we sold an extra 50% on Saturday compared to the last game of last season, which is fantastic to hear. Those sales could even have been higher but the number of people buying caught us out a little: we ordered an extra 400 programmes and still sold out of both editions.
"In reality not all areas sold out; there were a handful available in the exec areas for example, so we have collected them all up and they are available, although there are an extremely limited number of the away ones still available."
If you missed out, email Martin Brodetsjy on mbrodetsky@oufc.co.uk or you can ensure that you get a copy every game by emailing Martin to subscribe: both editions of the home programme are available each week and we also offer a subscription service for United's away matches.
The fixture poster is available from the club shop, for free: pop in and grab one ahead of the game when United welcome Coventry City on Tuesday night.
Please note that the home/away editions are available for league games only.
