The Oxford United programme breaks new ground

8 August 2018

Oxford United is very proud of its matchday programme.

It has won many awards over the last few years and remains fantastic value at just £3 per issue.

In 2018 for the first time ever, EFL clubs voted to make production of a programme optional rather than compulsory. We don't want to take that route, so as you have come to expect of the programe team, we decided to do something about it...

This season for the very first time that the club has produced TWO programmes for a game. Alongside the home programme, we have produced a fantastic new, limited edition AWAY programme. Chris Williams, the club's Communications Manager explains:

"We fully understand why for some clubs a match programme is becoming increasingly irrelevant, but we still love producing the programme and it is still a useful revenue stream for the club, so we sat down with our designers at Alchemy and printers Bishops, to see if we could come up with something completely new.

"Because of the way programmes are printed these days, the covers are made via a slightly different process. So we will use that section to produce different content, aimed at the away supporters. The two covers are different, and then inside the  programme for away supporters, for example, we have a guide to visiting the ground, pen pics on the home team, and other information that is relevant to their day with us.

"The home version remains 68 pages of great content, including the thoughts of the Chairman, Manager and Captain and we will be looking back as we celebrate 125 years as a club. Plus we have actually added a THIRD programme! The middle eight pages are now a pull out section for Junior fans, with quizzes and a poster.

"The prices stays at £3 for the ninth season in a row. It has been a fantastic project to work on and I think it's the most exciting programme we have ever produced, so we hope fans give it a try and pick up a copy on Saturday."

Pick up a programme, or two, before every home game or email mbrodetsky@oufc.co.uk for back issues.
