We take a look at tonight's opposition

26 September 2017

A draw at Charlton left Bury in 19th place in the table after nine games: a ‘false position’ according to Pep Clotet in his pre-match interview.

Defender Nathan Cameron is a major doubt for the home side. The defender was replaced by Alex Whitmore just 18 minutes into Saturday's 1-1 draw at the Valley against Charlton after sustaining a thigh injury.

Midfielder Rohan Ince, on loan from Brighton, missed the trip to the Valley through injury and will need to prove his fitness to boss Lee Clark otherwise Callum Reilly is expected to continue.

Defender Eoghan O'Connell and midfielders Jay O'Shea and Andrew Tutte are expected to be eased back into training this week

There are three familiar faces in the Bury squad in Joe Skarz, Phil Edwards and Chris Maguire, all with the U’s last season. U’s keeper Simon Eastwood is all too aware of the threat from Maguire, especially at set pieces, and also remains firm friends with Skarz, who came through the same youth system as him at Huddersfiled.

“I’m sure Mags would love to score a free kick past me” he told iFollow. “He is very dangerous but I’ll be on my toes. I speak to Skarzy just about every day and he will be desperate to play but whoever is in their side we know it will be difficult against them, but we want to show our real selves after the disappointment on Saturday.”
