Defender Canice Carroll flew out after Saturday’s game at Milton Keynes to link up with the Republic of Ireland under 19 side.
Canice was given dispensation to miss the Republic’s first game against the Czech Republic on Saturday but then joined up with the squad on Saturday night hoping to be involved when they play a second game against the same opponents this afternoon.
“It was a decent performance from the lads at MK on Saturday” Canice told us. “I enjoyed being part of it but am looking forward to joining up with the Republic squad again and hopefully being involved on Monday afternoon.”
The Republic won the first game 2-1 and the sides meet again at the same venue on Monday afternoon (1.00pm).
