PREVIEW Oxford United v AFC Wimbledon

U's look to build on Posh win as they take on the Dons

6 October 2017

Oxford United welcome AFC Wimbledon to Grenoble Road on Saturday. Here we have a full guide to the game.

TEAM NEWS

United are without striker Agon Mehmeti who pulled his hamstring early in Tuesday's 2-2 Checkatrade Trophy draw with Brighton's under 21s.

The Albanian international is likely to be out of action for a few weeks and joins Charlie Raglan and Sam Long on the long term injured list. However Jon Obika and Dwight Tiendalli are making good progress and could feature next week at Bristol Rovers.

Manager Pep Clotet changed the shape to a three man defence in midweek and could stick to that system. Clotet welcomes defenders John Mousinho and Ricardinho back into the squad after they were rested and must decide whether to revert to the side that impressed so much in winning at Peterborough last weekend; Jack Payne and Christian Ribeiro were outstanding in that game and could return to the side on Saturday.

Simon Eastwood's run of 75 consecutive games ended on Tuesday night but he is expected to replace Scott Shearer in goal.
