The last few weeks have seen Oxford United’s young players getting a helping hand from the senior coaching staff at the club.
Pep Clotet, Derek Fazackerley, Chris Allen and Leon Blackmore Such have all taken time out of their busy schedules to help coach the younger age group sides and having worked with half the age groups two weeks ago they have been busy this week with the other teams: Pep and Chris Allen helping out on Monday and Faz and Leon set to coach on Thursday.
Academy Manager Les Taylor told us:
“It’s been a really productive idea. The young footballers have really enjoyed it and I think the coaches have liked working with them and being involved.
"I’d like to thank everyone for giving up their time and now the players will come along and have a look behind the scenes on a matchday and meet the coaches again, something that just reinforces the way that the whole club works together.”
