PREVIEW Oxford United Women v Manchester City

We look ahead to tonight's game

2 November 2017

Oxford United Women welcome Manchester City to Court Place Farm in the Continental Cup tonight (7.45pm).

Andy Cook's side are in good form this season with a draw against Brighton in their last game leaving them in fourth place in WSL2. They welcome back Hannah Short after suspension but captain Lauren Haynes is again likely to miss out through injury.

Man City’s side is packed with internationals, including England goalkeeper Karen Bardsley, England Captain Steph Houghton, Jill Scott and Nikita Parris and with United doing well in the WSL2 it sets up what should be a great cup tie. City have a 100% record so far this season and midfielder Izzy Christiansen said:

“It’s important that we’ve set that standard. Moving forward, we’ve got to hit those standards now to keep our momentum going. We’ve been playing some really good football and we’ve scored some really great goals. Momentum is huge so we have to keep making sure we stay solid defensively and keep taking our chances.”

Tickets are on sale from oufctickets priced £5 adults (on the night £6) and just £1 for Oxford United Season Ticket holders on the night.

With a bumper crowd expected, a Park & Ride service from Thornhill Park & Ride is available where you can park up and get the free shuttle bus to Court Place Farm, courtesy of Oxford Bus Company.

Time Table:

Leaving Thornhill to Court Place Farm at 18:15, 18:45 & 19:15

Leaving Court Place Farm to Thornhill at 21:40, 22:10 & 22:40

There are very limited parking spaces at Court Place Farm so we do advise parking at Thornhill. There will be a £2 charge for parking but the shuttle bus is free.

Tonight's programme is a special 32-page edition, featuring a full profile of Manchester City, plus notes from Manager Andy Cook and Women's General Manager Ruth Senior, a double-page poster of the Oxford United Women's squad and a full-page poster of Chloe Chivers. On sale at the ground, it costs just £2.50 and is sure to be a collector's item.
