Welcome to the new look website

22 May 2017

Welcome to the new look Official Oxford United website.

After six years on the old platform the new site is one of the newly designed sites that are appearing across the EFL. With the help of leading developers Realise we have been hard at work building a site that is

• Easier to navigate
• Can feature news from all areas of the club
• Integrates better with social media and video
• Increases commercial opportunities online
• Provides a better experience for fans

The new site is also launched to coincide with a switch in video content: Yellow Player HD is no more and has been replaced by iFollow.

Existing subscribers, and there are now well over 1,250 of them, will be transferred across to the new platform where there will be a fantastic new service available to fans living abroad next season: you will be able to see the whole game LIVE.

Communications Manager Chris Williams told himself:

“It’s a massive step forward, not just in terms of what fans see and how they interact with the club, but also in terms of the flexibility for us, behind the scenes, to add exciting new content.

“We have worked really hard to build the site and I look forward to the first tweet pointing out a spelling mistake somewhere! Luckily I can correct that in seconds on this site rather than 20 minutes on the old one.

“There are two other changes that we are really excited about. The first is iFollow, which we are piecing together over the summer and will be fully launched in August. Live games will be great for overseas fans but the new platform also gives us scope to put more video in front of the paywall, which will change how we do things in the build up and after games.

“And we also have a new member of staff in the communications team with Kath Faulkner joining us to help out with the social media and our online channels. A lot of fans know Kath already- she has played for the Women’s side, helped us build websites in the past and has been part of the Yellow Army and the Fence End podcast as well as doing great work with our friends at the Oxford City Stars.

“It’s a busy summer as we get everything in place but we’re always grateful for feedback on the new site: either tweet @OUFCOfficial or email me at cwilliams@oufc.co.uk if you have any thoughts on the new site or iFollow.”
