Join the Yellow Army For A Pre Match Party

29 March 2017

Help raise funds while enjoying the pre final atmosphere

We are now just four days away from a massive day in the history of the football club. Oxfordshire has united, as well as fans from across the world, to give Oxford United fantastic support at Wembley. 30,000 of the Yellow Army will be there to welcome the team as they take on Coventry City in the final of the Checkatrade Trophy.

Before the game, our wonderful fans, many of whom have spent a lot of time and effort in making it happen, are putting on a pre match party, for all Oxford United fans to enjoy.

Joe Nicholls from the Yellow Army, who has worked with a number of volunteers to help organise this, explains more about what it is all about.

"An opportunity came about to hire the Crystal Rooms, right by our end at Wembley. After looking at all the options for our fans on the day, we decided to go ahead, so we can put something special on for all fans. There is a significant cost to hiring the venue, but we have tried to keep costs as low as possible for fans.

“As the venue are putting on an event for us, they will provide furniture, and they will put on food for us to buy. Curry, BBQ, chips etc. This will also allow us to provide a dedicated family room, with face painting, so everyone can be involved as well as a main room for those wishing to have a drink.

“ Because this is our event, we can offer drinks deals;  4 cans for £10, and deals on Jager bombs and spirits. It really is an event for everyone. It will also provide an opportunity for us to raise around £2,000 for Oxford united in the Coimmunityt. Paul Moody and Joey Beauchamp are just two of our ex players confirmed to be there"

Managing Director Greig Box Turnbull said:

"Oxford United in the Community does so much invaluable work across the county, which makes a marked difference to so many youngsters, through the powerful medium of football and Oxford United.

"Fund raising is crucial to ensuring we maintain and develop our first class delivery and support in out communities.

"We are so thankful to the supporters who are organising this event and to everyone who is attending. It's a brilliant way for supporters to come together pre match to enjoy the vibe and the day, as one, and raising money for the club's charity is a fantastic bonus.

"We hope people back the event and have a brilliant day. It's great to see some of our ex players will be there mingling with supporters."

Tickets are £7.50 for adults, and free for kids. Tickets are available from If you wish to receive your tickets by post, then please purchase before 4.30pm on Wednesday. Tickets purchased after that, will be for collection on the door at the Crystal Rooms.
