The Yellow Army will be backing the U’s in large numbers in Portugal this summer and are organising some great events for the week.
Following on from the successful Steve Dyer fans’ match in Benalmadena last year which raised over £1,000 for Helen and Douglas House, the Yellow Army are looking for Oxford fans to bring their astroturf boots again on Thursday 13th July, when there will be a 5-a-side tournament at the Bellavista Sports Bar in Albufeira from 2pm until 4pm.
If you’re going to the Algarve and want to put a team together yourself that’s great. If you fancy a game but don’t have enough people for a team, no problem, just come along and they will put together teams with other Oxford fans. There are changing/showering facilities at the venue.
Once again the event is aimed at raising money for charity and they are asking for a €5 donation from each player.
Then after the football, head to the bar, grab a cold beer, and test your football knowledge with Oxford fan Mitch East who will be hosting a charity football quiz from around 4:30pm. Either put together your own team of up to 6 people, or join up with other fans on the day. Like the football, there will be a €5 donation from each person.
If you are interested in playing or quizzing (or both) please let the Yellow Army know by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The U’s will be playing Hull City on Saturday 15th July and hope to be able to confirm their other opponents, another Championship side who they will be playing on the Wednesday, soon.
